Recently, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Ailiben Technology, Li Ben Medical Devices (Chengdu) Co., Ltd., has achieved an innovative breakthrough in the medical application field with its independently developed "Human Exhaled Gas Detection Mass Spectrometer (Breath-TOF MS 2000)". This instrument has successfully expanded its application scope and innovatively added the precise detection functions for two anesthetic drugs, propofol and etomidate. This innovative breakthrough enables this instrument to be the first among similar devices in China to possess the ability to detect such complex substances, providing a new technical means for clinical drug monitoring. It also marks a significant expansion of the application boundaries of this instrument in the field of precision medicine, opening up broader development space for future individualized medical care and drug safety monitoring.

Propofol/Copropenol

There are current problems in clinical anesthesia control. The administration and adjustment of anesthetics in clinical practice are often based on population pharmacokinetic models or empirical dosing, resulting in significant individual differences. The anesthesia can be too deep or too shallow. Propofol and etomidate, which are the core drugs for intravenous anesthesia, have volatile metabolic characteristics. By monitoring the concentration of the drug in exhaled breath, compared with traditional plasma concentration measurement, exhaled breath monitoring is more convenient to operate, non-invasive, and can reflect the dynamic changes of the drug in the body in real time, which is helpful for the formulation of individualized anesthesia plans and has broad clinical application potential.

技术原理

The Breath-TOF MS 2000, a human exhaled gas detection mass spectrometer, breaks through the technical limitations of traditional GC-MS capillary chromatography separation. It adopts photon and its corresponding composite full ionization technology, by exciting the outer valence electrons of organic molecules or inorganic gases, to achieve real-time, non-separation detection of the tested gas samples. The response time can be as low as 0.2 seconds, significantly reducing the analysis time. Full-spectrum soft ionization, where a single molecule only generates its corresponding molecular ion, makes the spectrum easily identifiable, enabling the simultaneous ionization of all VOCs and inorganic gases in the sample gas, achieving truly high-throughput and rapid analysis.

Strengths and HighlightsTechnical principle

With advantages of high sensitivity and high resolution, the detection limit can reach the ppt level. It is capable of accurate trace analysis. A single instrument can simultaneously achieve qualitative and quantitative detection of hundreds of gases, breaking through the bottleneck at the level of exhaled gas diagnostic detection equipment. While ensuring high accuracy (with an accuracy rate exceeding 90% and a false negative rate within 10%), it has also achieved low cost, high accessibility, and non-invasive detection.
